No, as a private hire taxi firm, our cars have to be pre-booked with either a call, online or via the app.
Lost property will be kept securely at our head office at 55 Belgrave Road, Torquay for 30 days, after which time the items will be securely disposed of. This will also apply to items taken as surety for non-payment of fares.
Please note that we will not store perishable items such as food or drink, which will be disposed of upon arrival at our office.
Also note, that for our customer’s security, we will not store credit, debit or any type of payment card and these will be securely shredded on arrival at our office. To enquire about lost property items email mail@torbaytaxis.co.uk, or by using the form above, please include as much descriptive detail as possible about your item. We will also require the booking details of your journey, including the pick-up time, location, name on booking and telephone number.
Under no circumstances will the found property be released without verification of identity and a signature. Claimant(s) wishing to pick up lost property that has been dropped to the Torbay Taxis office, can only do so during office hours, Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5 pm by prior appointment. Claimant(s) wishing for lost property item(s) to be returned to them directly, will be charged a fee (fare) based on the driver's current location to the Claimant(s) required drop-off point.

Yes. If the driver has not been dispatched and it has not been paid by a payment link, you will not be charged. If the driver has arrived at the pick-up location and has travelled to get there, there may be a cancellation charge to cover the driver's fuel and time spent. App payments are typically refunded within 48 hours depending on your bank.
All link payments are non-refundable if not cancelled within 3 hours of the allocated pick-up time or if the vehicle has been dispatched.

We accept cash, card payments, Apple Pay & Google Pay in all of our vehicles with the use of our secure payment terminals.
